Overview

The A330 was developed in parallel with the A340 and inherited the fly-by-wire/glass-cockpit philosophy established by the A320 family. The original A330-200 and A330-300 were later joined by the A330neo A330-800 and A330-900. Flexible range, cabin layouts and passenger/cargo roles have made the A330 a long-lived global platform.

Key features

Twin-engine widebody, fly-by-wire, Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and aerodynamic updates on the A330neo, plus passenger, cargo and MRTT derivatives.

Note: Fleet counts can change frequently due to deliveries, leasing, storage, retirements and internal transfers. Figures are therefore shown with their source date.

Data sources and freshness

Fleet and production figures were compiled from Airbus, Boeing and current operator lists available in August 2026. Because fleet counts change continuously, each figure should be treated as a dated snapshot.
